Ed – Barak said he won’t raise taxes on anyone making less than $250,000/yr. Sounds good to me.
Actually, the President has no power when it comes to levying taxes, that job is the responsibility of the House of Representatives. It’s Nancy Pelosi who would lead the effort to change the tax codes/rates/etc. It would be up to the president to sign, veto or pocket veto the bill.
Frankly, Obama seems reasonable to me, however, i am not a fan of Nancy Pelosi or the current House.
